Artificial Intelligence Trainers (3 FTEs)

In order to be a front-runner in AI, BUas needs to train all of its staff in AI knowledge and skills on a regular basis. Several courses will be tailor-made to cover AI fundamentals, advanced and expert levels, ethical considerations, and practical applications in education. As an AI trainer you will conduct the on-campus workshops and ensure everything is organised smoothly. We are looking for several new colleagues (working between 0.4 and 1 FTE, for a total coverage of 3 FTEs). Are you ready to help shape the future of AI at BUas  

About this job  

As a trainer for the AI programme, you will be responsible for training staff members in understanding, utilising, and implementing AI in teaching, research and everyday work. The training material will be provided by experts, your presentation skills and translation of examples are a key factor in this role. Together with the AI Pioneers team, you will work on innovative learning resources and methods to make AI accessible and applicable in education, research and operations.   

In addition to the training tasks, we are looking for a colleague who will ensure that training sessions are planned and organised smoothly for the participants and staff involved. One of the new colleagues will primarily focus on providing organisational support and communication for the training programme. It is possible to combine the organisational support tasks with training tasks or to focus on the support tasks only  

Please note: the Artificial Intelligence Team is looking for several new colleagues (starting from 1 December 2024). A total of 3 FTE are needed. Please inform us in your cover letter how many hours you would like to work and if you are interested in the organisational support tasks.  

 What do we offer?  

  • The salary for this position amounts to a monthly minimum of €3,184.53 and a monthly maximum of €4,208.14 (gross amounts based on full-time employment);  

  • This position is classified as scale 8 of the CAO-HBO (collective labour agreement). Your official job title will be instructor;    

  • This position involves a one-year employment contract with the possibility of conversion into an indefinite employment contract 

  • Your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed when you travel by public transport;   

  • You will receive compensation for health insurance;   

  • You will receive a 13th month payment in December and an 8% holiday allowance in May;   

  • You will also be awarded professional development hours every year and almost eleven weeks of holiday entitlements in a full-time position;   

  • You will be working at our modern, sustainable and high-tech campus within a vibrant, creative and dynamic environment;  

  • You will be part of the AI Pioneers team, working on the AI fundamentals of the future of BUas.    

What do we ask of you?  

  • You have experience and affinity with Artificial Intelligence, Large Language Models (LLM), image generators and similar AI technology 

  • You have teaching experience in higher professional education or are willing to obtain a didactics certificate;  

  • You have strong communication skills and are able to interact with various stakeholders (with different AI proficiency levels), ensuring smooth and timely dissemination of all relevant information 

  • You have experience in planning and coordinating training sessions, managing logistics such as booking venues, arranging equipment, and scheduling based on the availability of staff and participants (if you are interested in the organisational support tasks) 

  • You will occasionally be requested to work off-site to train partners, which may involve irregular working hours and international travel;  

  • Experience in translating complex information into interactive and accessible lecture and workshop content is a plus;  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (in Dutch and English) are necessary to interact with all BUas staff from different academies and services.
